Obituary Notices and Memorials

CRANK, Edythe Marie Nov. 1, 1925 ~ Oct. 1, 2011 Edythe, better known as Edye to those who knew her best, was born November 1, 1925, in El Dorado, Oklahoma to parents James and Ida Daniel. Edye was 85 and is survived by her sister Mavis, her son Roy Jr., and wife Tia, her son David and wife Mickey, her daughter-in- law Maggie, her grandchildren, Christian, Corinna, Micah, Nicole, Natalie, Derek, Jason, Adam, Shasta, Arie, and her beloved dog Chico. She loved all of her family so very much. Edye was married to the love of her life Roy for 55 years. They had four children (Vera Ann and Donald are no longer with us). For the last 49 years she lived in the same house in Lancaster, Calif., and made comments that she had lived on the block the longest. Edye was a very giving soul and her heart and home were always open. She was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off her back, and if she made you a promise, you could count on it. She loved to shop and her favorite holiday was Christmas. Her hobbies were simple: taking care of her home, her family, and making other people happy. She lived in a time when it was fashionable to take pride in being a homemaker and she perfected it. You may have known her as the lady that brought you a pie when you moved into the neighborhood. We will miss you Mom. Edythe leaves us to now return to The Father, but not before making this world just a little bit better. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd. A gathering will occur immediately following the service at Edyes home.
