EKONG, Dr. Enobong A. 69, Cardologist dies Dr. Ekong was born on August 29, 1942, in Nung Udoe, Akwa Ibom State Nigeria. He came to the United States of America in 1962, on a scholarship to Wittenburg University in Ohio. He went to Cornell University Medical School. He did his residency and fellowship at Boston City Hospital. Dr. Ekong relocated to California, worked at Martin Luther King Hospital in Los Angeles. For the past 30 years he had his practice in the Antelope Valley area. He developed an exceptional reputation in Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Enobong Ekong passed away at Cedars Sanai Hospital on August 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Doris, three children, Afiong, Koko and Eka. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., with services from 4 to 5 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1821 West Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93534.
