BROWN, Martha Lucille 'Lucy' Born October 5, 1921, in Bicknell, Ind. Passed away September 4, 2011, at her home in Mojave, Calif. She was a Electronics technician for the U.S. Air Force, then moved on to be the first woman in her position of electronics technician at NASA. She assembled, tested, and repaired computer and electronic components for the space shuttle program and various other aircraft such as SR-71 Black Bird and the Hi-Mat. Retired from NASA in 1983, after over 25 years of service. She was past Senior Regent for Women of the Moose, Woman of the Year in 1972, Mother of the Year in 1975. The world seems so empty without you in it, but thanks to you, our hearts will always be full. Survived by daughter Vickie Burdick and many many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., with services beginning at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011, both at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
