ZUELKE, JR. EDWIN G.
ZUELKE Jr., Edwin G. Heaven welcomed Ed on Friday, August 12, 2011, at the age of 68. He was born in Gallup, New Mexico, on February 24, 1943. He was a much-loved man, known as Husband, Dad, Papa, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He leaves behind his family and friends who loved him dearly, including his wife, Cheryl; 4 children, Stephanie Thompson (Etienne Meyer), Wolfie (Sara), Jennifer Bate (Jim Bolander) and Cindy Doers (Mike); 7 grandchildren, Josh, Kristin, Taylor, Steve, Rick, Gabriella and Jackson; one great-grandchild, Charlie; his sister, Dawn Cunningham (Steve) and brother, Jim. He has passed on to join his mother, Elizabeth, father, Edwin Sr., and dear sister, Connie Speidel. Ed graduated from Palmdale High School Class of '61, then went on to serve in the U.S. Army as an MP in Germany. He loved being around his family and friends, fishing, target-shooting, bowling, watching movies and listening to music. He was a member of the Desert Marksman Rifle and Pistol Club, and taught all of his kids how to shoot rifles. He worked for Pacific Bell for 32 1/2 years before retiring. He enjoyed his retirement until his diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gerhig's Disease). He battled the disease for the last 2 years of his life. Ed was strong through it all, and remained positive and hopeful. His smile continued to light up the room every day, and we will remember his smiling eyes in our hearts always. He is truly missed. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2011. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011, both services will be at Halley-Olsen- Murphy, Palmdale. Interment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park following the Service. www.halleyolsenmurphychapels.com
