COLLETT, Lucy W. Born July 16, 1933, in Taylorsville, N.C. Passed away July 25, 2011, at her home in Lancaster, Calif. She grew up in Mills Home Orphanage, Thomasville, N.C., where she also attended school. She has lived in the Antelope Valley since 1964. Retired from Wilsona School district as Librarian. She enjoyed canvas needlework, RVing, playing dominos with friends and family, and walking with the seniors at Lancaster City Pools. She raised 4 children, was a girl scout leader, set up the libraries for Alphine School and Wilsona School. Survived by her husband G. Frank Collett Sr., of Lancaster, Calif., sons G. Frank Collett Jr. (Tony), of Palmdale, Calif., Allen Collett (Marie), of Lancaster, Calif., daughters Jean Greear (Mike) of Littlerock, Calif., Terrie Ballinger (Ted) of Lancaster, Calif., grandchildren Saundra Greear, Steven Greear, Staff Sgt. Jerry Collett, Chrystal Collett, Lorren Lippard, Dylan Lippard, Jason Collett, David Collett, Jessica Anderson and 4 great- grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2011, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Palmdale. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to Baptist Children's Homes of N.C., P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, N.C. 27361-0338.
