SCHMID, Joseph F. Born October 20, 1940, in Phoenix, Ariz. Passed away June 14, 2011, in Lancaster, Calif. He grew up in Phoenix, Ariz., where he attended St. Marys Catholic School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1972, serving 3 tours of duty in Vietnam, he received the National Defense service medal, Vietnam Service medal with Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam campaign medal. He has lived in the Antelope Valley for 10 years. He was an accountant for Kayline in Long Beach, Calif. He also enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. Survived by his wife Marcia Schmid, step-daughters Deborah Cohen (David) of Lancaster, Calif., Susan Segura of Palmdale, Calif., grandchildren Naomi Cohen, Noah Cohen and Nathan Cohen all of Lancaster, Calif. Also survived by his brother Charles Schmid. Preceded in death by his parents Gail and Joseph Schmid, sister Roberta Wilkerson, and brother Richard Schmid.
