STEADMAN, EVE MARGARET
STEADMAN, Eve Margaret Born March 2, 1925, and passed away June 6, 2011. Eve grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota. She married and spent several years in Iowa, where she had three children, Luke, Cathy, an John. She later returned to Minnesota where she and her husband, Henry Kempton Steadman had three more children, Elisabeth, Laura, and Julie. When the family moved to Glendale, California, Eve joined the Toastmistress Club and became a noted speaker. She was a practitioner of Religious Science, and served as an officiant and regular speaker at the church. In the seventies, the family moved to the Bay Area and Eve attended school at West Valley College. After graduation, she worked at the college. Upon retirement, the family moved to Lancaster, California. Eve was a teachers assistant for the Antelope Valley Adult School for many years. She was a volunteer at AV Hospital and a member of the Happy Singers. One of her proudest achievements was playing Sister Clare in the 2006, Palmdale Playhouse production of 'Lilies of the Field.' Eve was a gifted writer and speaker as well as a wonderful teacher. Eve is survived by her companion and best friend, Rellan Jones, as well as her children John, Cathy, Elisabeth, Laura and Julie She leaves ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Halley-Olsen- Murphy, Lancaster.
