WHITE, Richard 'Dick' Temple 83, of Lancaster, Calif. Born August 4, 1927, to Fern and Roy White in Sterling, Kansas died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, June 2, 2011, following a long illness. Mr. White served four years in the Navy, attended college in Sterling, Kansas, married, and eventually settled in Lancaster in 1959, where he served 45 years as a teacher, administrator, and School Board Member employed by Lancaster School District until his retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, preceded in death by Joyce Marie White, his wife of 43 years, his second wife Florice Mae White of 17 years, his daughter Marsha and his son Phillip. He is survived by his daughter Pamela, son Thomas and wife Teresa, his grandchildren Angelique Pines, Christopher (Carrie) White, Heather (John) Padilla, Traci (Edson) Perez, Tony McKee; great-grandchildren Skylar and Cody Pines, and Nathan Padilla. Mr. White was an avid golfer, an extraordinary father, a trusted friend, and will be truly missed. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Richard T. White Sports and Recreation Center Located at the North East corner of Park View School, (now University of AV) 808 West Avenue J, Lancaster, California 93534. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lancaster Education Foundation.
