PICKELL, Herman Born August 21, 1921, in New York, N.Y. Passed away May 17, 2011, in Palmdale, Calif. Mr. Pickell was a resident of the Antelope Valley for 17 years. He worked as a Court Reporter for several years and also as Agency Manager. He loved reading, acting, and community theatre. He had acting roles as Victor Velasco in 'Barefoot in the Park,' Roy Hubley in 'Plaza Suite,' and various other rolls with the Conejo Players in Thousand Oaks. He also had a role as Max Levene in 'Heaven Can Wait' for The Palmdale Repertory Theatre. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, LaVonne Taylor Pickell, sons, Barry Pickell and wife Melody of Atascadero, Calif., David Pickell of Franklin, Tenn., Dana Taylor of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Timothy Taylor and wife Mona of Ventura, Calif., daughter Marianne Pickell of Fountain Valley, Calif., Godson, Timothy Wang and grandchildren, Wendi and Randi. Mr. Pickell was very proud of his children and of his work in the entertainment industry. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m., to 12 p.m., at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary with a graveside service at 1 p.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park both on Monday, May 23, 2011, in Palmdale, Calif.
