BRONSON, BARRY EMERSON
BRONSON, Barry Emerson Age 66 of Kelseyville, passed away on April 29, 2011. Born in Sydney, Australia on March 20, 1945, to Lloyd E. and Joan H. Bronson. He moved to California and became a U.S. Citizen on November 4, 1947. He was raised in Turlock, and then moved to Santa Maria, where he met and married his wife Linda Ann McCamish in 1968. After attending San Jose State University, where he attained a BS in Aeronautical Operations, Barry and his family moved to Lancaster. In 1965, he joined the Marine Corp Reserve, where he served as a helicopter crew chief and mechanic, leaving in 1972, with the rank of Sergeant. Barry's aviation career continued at Lockheed for 12 years, where he served as a Flight Engineer, Check Pilot, and helped with the launch of the L-1011 TriStar airliner. He also served as a Sales Director for the L-1011, travelling extensively throughout Africa, England, and the Mid East. After a short stint with Total Air Airlines, he became a First Officer and then Pilot for Hawaiian Airlines, flying both domestic and international routes, until his retirement in 2000. Barry's love of flying started in the Boy Scouts, where he reached the rank of Star in the Air Scouts. He got his private pilot license at the age of 20, and by his retirement held an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, the highest available. He also served as a crew chief for the Reno Air Racer 'Sundancer', which is currently on display at the San Diego Aerospace museum. After retirement he built his dream house on the shores of Clear Lake, where he was a member of the Lakeport Elks. Barry is survived by his wife Linda Ann, sister Maria Joan Kelley, his daughter, Dawn Bellinger, son Bryan Bronson, and grandchildren Kyle Braun, Brody Bronson, Conner Bellinger, and Paige Bronson. Viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at the Chapel of the Lakes, 1625 High Street Lakeport, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011, at St. Peters Catholic Church, 4085 Main Street Kelseyville, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Barry's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at www.michaeljfox.org or by check to: The Michael J.
