MECENAS, Ernesto, G. Sr. Born December 21, 1913, in Culasi, Antique, Philippines. Passed away April 22, 2011, in Lancaster, Calif. He grew up in the province of Antique, Philippines, graduated as a Civil Engineer at Mapua Institution of Technology in Manila, Philippines. He served with the Panay Guerillas during World War II and Philippine Scouts, U.S. Army. He immigrated to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1968, and became a Turkey farmer in Palmdale, Calif., in 1977. He was a father, engineer, builder, farmer, grandfather, and a member of Knights of Columbus. Survived by sons Ernesto Jr. (Dahlia) of San Pedro, Calif., Bong (Gwen) of North Hills, Calif., Sal (Ybeth) of Lancaster, Calif., Manuel (Marigene) of Las Vegas, Nev., daughters Maria of Lancaster, Calif., Teresa of Sherman Oaks, Calif., grandchildren Jolivette, Jonathan, Desirea, Kristopher, MAllysa, Matthew, Bree, Milja, Schayne, MAylani, great-grandchildren Soul Kaya, Leila, Jasmin. Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lancaster. Burial will follow services at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Lancaster. www.joshuamortuary.com
