Passed away at age 54 of cancer, on April 14, 2011 in Lancaster. She was born December 18, 1956 at A.V. Hospital in Lancaster, CA to Stella and Edmund Pielech Sr. Susan attended Piute Intermediate School and Antelope Valley High graduating in the class of 1974. After high school she worked various jobs including Lancaster Arts and Crafts and the Lancaster Public Library, while taking classes at AVC and later transferring to California State University, Northridge graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts. She moved to Los Angeles where she lived for over 20 years a freelance graphic artist in advertising. She moved back to Lancaster in 2004 after the death of her mother, Stella. She still worked in graphic arts, while going back to school at AV College to change her career to teaching. She had worked as a substitute teacher in the Palmdale School District until she became ill last fall. Susan loved to draw, paint PIELECH, Susan Michele and had a passion for horses, which she had hoped to own one day. She also had hoped to show her Australian Shepherd Fletcher. She leaves behind to mourn her, father Edmund Pielech, sisters Patricia(Patti) Slater and husband Alan, Nancy Hayes, Donna Kennon and husband Vernon (Bud), and Stephanie Pielech, all of Lancaster and a brother Edmund(Eddie) Pielech Jr. of Colorado, nieces Jennifer Slater-Sanchez and husband Danny, Kristin Kennon, Elise Hayes, and Kelsie Dutra, nephews Eric Slater and Kyle Kennon, God-children great-niece and great-nephew Gracie and Jacob Sanchez., two aunts Mary Oslin and husband Dave of Rocky River, Ohio and Helen Yanczura of Adena Ohio and many cousins in Ohio that adored her, along with many friendsÉher dog Fletcher and two cats, Tiggy and Mittens, and a desert tortoise she has had for 20 years, Googie. Another cat, Orangie, died a few days before her. She had spent two months at the City of Hope in Duarte, CA, that we will always be so grateful for their wonderful treatment and caring of her. She passed away at the home of Donna and Bud Kennon under care of Stephanie Pielech, RN. Per her wishes, Susan was cremated through Mumaw Funeral Home and will be laid to rest with her mother at Joshua Memorial Park with graveside Catholic services on April 30 at 1:00p,.
