JACKSON, Gale W. A career aeronautical engineer with General Electric and loving husband of 63 years died Friday, April 15, 2011, at the age of 87. He was a pilot (B-25) during World War II in the Army Air Corps and proceeded to attend the University of Louisville. On returning to California, he met his future wife Mary J. Pinamonti, also known as Penny. After marriage they moved to the Antelope Valley in 1959, where they raised 4 children. He is survived by his wife and 3 daughters, Anne Wurster, Lisa Jackson and Linda Holcomb. His son James W. Jackson preceded him in death in 1993. He has 9 grandchildren, Jim Jackson Jr., Sean, Christopher, Nicholas, and Patrick Wurster, Brooke, Brittany, Michael and Nicole Holcomb and 3 great-granddaughters, Kaylyn, Rylee, and Karissa. He was an avid writer, and published cartoonist. He enjoyed music and loved all sports, especially golf, tennis, fishing, hunting and gardening. His life was full, his friends were many and he will be greatly missed. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church Palmdale.
