GORDON, Edward L. Aug. 20, 1924 Ð Mar. 27, 2011 World War II veteran Edward L. Gordon was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. In 1948, he and his wife, Betty, whom he married May 21, 1945, came to California. He retired from the Los Angeles County Probation Department in 1985, after 30 years. Many of those years were served as supervisor in the Lancaster Field Office. His military service was in the U.S. Army until he was mustered out on a medical discharge. He was a talented violinist, first chair in the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra for 27 years, played the fiddler, in the Fiddler on the Roof Antelope Valley College production and taught violin classes. He held degrees in marriage and family counseling (MA MFT), and served for eight years as a domestic violence counselor. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, their children, David, Paul, Lisa, Lori and Neil and 12 grandchildren. Private services and inurnment have been held.
