RICHARDSON, Edgar J. Born on February 9, 1931, in Purcell, Okla. Passed away on March 18, 2011, in Bakersfield, Calif. Ed is survived by his wife Prudence (Toddie) of 57 years, son Stephen (Diane) Richardson, daughter Susan Lawrence, brothers Bill (Pat) Richardson and Mike (Donna) Hatcher, grandchildren Stephen Richardson II, Heather Lawrence, and Shelby Richardson, also nieces, nephews and a vast extended family in California, Oklahoma and Florida. Ed came to California as a young boy and was raised in Bakersfield. After graduating from Bakersfield HS, Ed proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War earning the rank of ET 3rd Class. After an honorable discharge, Ed leveraged his exceptional technical abilities to secure a position with the FAA and became a Lancaster resident in 1961, for the remainder of his career. Ed retired from the FAA after 35 years, and then worked for Raytheon before moving back to Bakersfield with his wife. Ed was an accomplished and compassionate man, who was well respected and admired. Ed's hobbies included golfing, wood and leather working, he was also a member of the Elks Lodge. A Military Funeral Honors service is being held at 12 noon, Friday, March 25, 2011, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bakersfield.
