OVERTON, Oran C. Beloved husband and father passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer on February 14, 2011, in Palmdale, California. He was born February 18, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa. Oran has lived in California since 1953. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also worked for the Los Angeles County Road Department for 35 years. He is survived by his wife Mary of 58 years, children, Dennis (Debbie), Rob (Roseanne), Michele (David), Melody, brother, Jerry Overton of Des Moines, Iowa, eight grandchildren, Bill, Robbie, Brook, Lauren, Michael, Alicia, Christina, Cole and seven great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary 1755 E. Ave. R, Palmdale, CA 93550.
