MORRISSEY, Thomas Matthew Age 90, passed away January 22, 2011, in Lancaster, California. Thomas served his country in the Navy during World War II. He married his wife Elenora in 1946, she preceded him in death in 2009. He joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department in 1948, and came to the Antelope Valley in 1949. In 1956, Thomas went to work for Culver City as a Constable. Later in 1956, he joined the Los Angeles County Marshalls office and retired as Captain in 1976. Thomas is survived by one daughter and one son, DyAnn Latham of Rosamond, Robert Morrissey and his wife Cynthia of Lancaster, one brother, Gene Morrissey of Fallbrook, six grandchildren, Melissa Rubio, Ryan and Jennifer Tate, Sean Morrissey, and Emily and George Arizanov, four great-grandchildren, Isabella Gomez, Hailey Garcia, Amber Likins, and Audriana Rubio. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary Service starting at 7 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Halley-Olsen-Murphy, Lancaster Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m., Friday, January 28, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lancaster. Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery.
