CYR, Maurice Louis 'Red' Born June 28, 1925, in Rumford, Maine. Passed away January 21, 2011, at home in Lancaster, Calif. He served in the Navy during World War II, then in the Navy Reserve and National Guard. In 1959, the family moved to the Antelope Valley, where he worked at McDonnell Douglas until his retirement. He was a hospital volunteer in Arizona, and at Lancaster Community Hospital for many years, he also volunteered at Grace Resource Center. He was a member of Elks B.P.O.E. 1625 for over 30 years. He enjoyed traveling, biking and golfing. He and his wife were active square dancers for more than 40 years. He was married to Isabelle Gouger Cyr, the love of his life, for 64 years. He is survived by his wife and three children; Louise Bustillos (Don), William Bruce Cyr (Patti), and Maurine Butler (Sherman); sister, Evamay Gagne of Taylorville, Illinois, four grandchildren, Leslie Cyr, Erin Cyr, Alex Butler (Janelly) and Dylan Butler, great-granddaughter, Alexis Veda Butler and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Chapel, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Resource Center, Lancaster, Calif.
