MONTAMBLE, ELOIS
MONTAMBLE, Elois Lois was born on July 5, 1930, at 2 a.m., just as the train was passing the Taylor home in Childress, Texas the oldest of three children. She left this world the evening of January 14, 2011, in her home surrounded by her husband and children after battling cancer for over two and a half years. She graduated from San Bernardino High School and later took accounting courses at college. She was employed for many years as an accountant working for several businesses in the Valley including Bill Wheeler and Ryckebosch Farms, from where she retired. She enjoyed playing golf at the AV Country Club where she also played Bridge. She spent many summers in the Black Hills of South Dakota in her husband's home town of Lead. She also loved to travel and throughout her life she visited such places as Fiji, Australia, New Zealand and Alaska. She and Bill also spent 6 months traveling the U.S., and spent 30 days exploring Europe by train. She loved a good card game, a party with friends, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and visiting new places. She was a smart businesswoman, a loving and devoted wife, a caring and supportive mother of her four children and step-daughter, her seven grandchildren and her 12 great-grandchildren as well as a fun and loyal friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Debi Frame Scholarship Fund, c/o Palmdale High School, 2137 E. Ave R, Palmdale. She is survived by her husband Bill Montamble; sister Verella Wheeler; children Debi Frame (deceased) (Grant), Caryn Nordskog, Valerie Holloway (Derald), Timothy Nordskog (Myrna), step-daughter Sally Jo Valenzuela (Stace) and 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Halley-Olsen-Murphy , Lancaster.
