SUTER, GEORGE L.
SUTER, George L. May 13, 1910 ~ Jan. 17, 2011 George was born in Washington D.C. to Robert H. Suter and Louise Hirt Suter. He came to the Antelope Valley in 1930. He retired from the LA County Road Dept., after 38 1/2 years. He started out digging ditches and ended up as Superintendent of a district. He was a charter member and first President of the Fin and Feather of Palmdale. He was an active and honorary charter member for 70 years with the BPO Elks 1625, Lancaster, Calif. He and his wife Mildred enjoyed traveling and camping with the Boles-Aero Travel Trailer Club. He is survived by daughters-in-law Margaret Farley, of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Shirley Worl of Madison, Wis., granddaughters Kristi Vincenzini (Jeff), of Santa Rosa, Calif., Tammy Worl of Chicago, Ill., grandson John Farley (Kate), of Santa Rosa, Calif., three great-granddaughters Angelina Vincenzini, Mia Mildred, Eleanor Farley and one great-grandson Ian Farley, son-in-law Jack Farley (Virginia) of Pearblossom, Calif., nephews Louis Suter (Phyllis) of Simi Valley, Calif., Robert J. Suter (Pat), Tallahassee, Fla., Clifford Moulton (Barbara), of Lancaster, Calif., nieces, Mary Bittel (Bud) of West Friendship, Md., Donna Choate (Bill) of Palmdale, Calif., numerous great- nephews and nieces and great-grand nephews and nieces and many dear friends. Preceded in death his wife of 42 years Mildred, brother Robert, son-in-law Roger Worl and nephews Owen Moulton and Edward Dean Moulton. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Mumaw Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held at 9 a.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Memorial Service follow at 11 a.m., at the BPO Elks 1625, 240 E. Ave K, Lancaster, with a light lunch to follow, both Monday, Jan. 24, 2011. In lieu of flowers you may wish to donate to the charity of your choice.
