DELCAMBRE, Lucel Rose Born March 17, 1911, in St. James, Jamaica West Indies. Passed away December 17, 2010. She grew up in Cuba and has lived in the Antelope Valley since the 1970s. She ran living assistance homes for mentally and socially challenged adults and children. Rose was an active member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Jolly Seniors. She also bowled in the Lancaster Bowling League. Roses entire life was filled with love, kindness and devotion to her extended family and she was larger than life. Always in style and ahead of her time, her bold personality and maverick spirit filled the room and lingered when she left. Survived by daughter Inez Holloway, granddaughter Cheryl Stewart, great-granddaughter Ababa Mention, great-great-granddaughter Nia Mention, sisters Vanny Reed, Kathleen Ricketts, Emma Gordon, Judith Parkinson, dear friend Thelma Shaw, adopted son Richard Throckmartin and a host of extended family. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Halley- Olsen-Murphy, Palmdale, Interment immediately following approximately 12:45 p.m., at Lancaster District Cemetery. Repast immediately following interment at the Sun Village Community Center, William Shaw Building, 9657 E. Ave Q-12, Littlerock, Calif.
