HEINZ, Ruth Ruth was born to Charles and Helen Mann on May 31, 1912, in Wolbach, Nebraska. At an early age the family moved to Humboldt and then to Lincoln where she graduated from Lincoln High School and the Lincoln School of Commerce. In 1934, she married Carl Heinz and they had two boys, Carl III and Allen Kendall. There were war clouds and the family moved to Long Beach where both worked in the shipyards, Ruth in the war bond office. At the conclusion of the war, Carl worked and was later made manager of the Royal Crown Cola plant. He was transferred to Lancaster and Ruth applied to Lancaster-Palmdale Savings. She worked there twenty-two years as secretary to the manager, new accounts representative and escrow officer. She subsequently was given the title of Assistant Secretary of the Association. For three years she sang with the Sweet Adelines, was a member of the Escrow Association of Antelope Valley. She was President of the Zonta Club in 1973, and secretary-treasurer of Trinity Church for several years, which is now Desert Community Church. Her husband of 56 years passed away in 2000, her oldest son in 2005, and her son Allen Kendall passed away on August 3, 2010. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Desert Community Church. Burial will be at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, Calif. Arrangements entrusted to Halley- Olsen-Murphy, Lancaster.
