VOELKER, Doris Ann Born February 21, 1928, in Jackson, Miss. Passed away December 9, 2010, in Lancaster, Calif. She grew up and attended school in Jackson, Miss. She was a resident of the Antelope Valley for 55 years. She worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone from 1955 to 1971. Her hobbies were needle-point and to travel when she could. Doris and her late husband would love to go on cruises. She helped her late husband through Master program at UCLA and put her son through Doctor of Pharmacy program at USC. She is survived by her son Michael Voelker of Northridge, Calif., and his spouse Peggy Voelker, grandchildren Anne Schoerner and Geoffrey Voelker and great-grandchild Ben Schoerner. Preceded in death by her husband Joseph O. Voelker, brother Ralph K. Byrd and sister Jamie Porter. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
