REED, Donald Edward Born April 1, 1920, in Clinton, Mass. Passed away December 11, 2010, in Littlerock, Calif. He grew up in La Canada and Glendale, attending school in Glendale. He served in the Marine 4th Division during World War II, in Iwo Jima, Saipan-Tinian and Roi Namu. He received a purple heart after being wounded in battle on Saipan. He has lived in the Antelope Valley for 54 years working as a carpenter and maintenance mechanic at Lockheed. He enjoyed building houses and auto maintenance. He hand built 5 houses, 1 cabin and one garage. He was a devoted father. Survived by his former wife and friend Betty J. Reed of Littlerock, son Donald V. Reed of Littlerock, daughters Margaret Haueisen of Rolling Hills, Calif., Linda M. Reed of Littlerock, Calif., Donna J. Hornaday of Palmdale, Calif., Patricia K. Lennox (Chuck M.) of Juniper Hills, Calif., grandchildren Crystal Templeton, Tracy Fisher, Garrett Reed, Joseph Lennox, John Lennox, Kim Drummond, Robert Morris and 8 great-grandchildren.
