POPE, Linda Joy 'L.J.' Born July 8, 1945, in Riverside, Calif., to Ben and Virgillia Pope Sr. Moved to Palmdale in 1950, and graduated from Palmdale High School in 1963. She retired from Pacific Telephone Company. L.J. lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at her home in Calabasas, Calif. Linda is preceded in death by her father, Ben Pope Sr. She is survived by her mother, Virgillia, sisters, Vicki and Nancy, Brother, Ben Jr., her domestic partner, Mary Kaufman, many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered and missed for her kind and loving ways. A Memorial Service is pending.
