LIPPMAN, GARY ALLEN
LIPPMAN, Gary Allen 68, died Sunday, November 28, 2010, at his home in Lancaster, California. Mr. Lippman was born September 30, 1942, in Glendale, Calif., to Morris and Lorraine Lippman. He grew up in Burbank, Calif. He graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1966, with a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences, and went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Education Psychology in 1974. He served his country in the U.S. Navy both in the Reserves, and Active Duty. He served Active Duty in Cuba and Florida from 1967 to 1969, achieving the rank of Petty Officer, First Class. After the Navy, he began working for the Los Angeles County Probation Department. He came to work at the Antelope Valley Area office in 1985, and as a Supervising Deputy Probation Officer he oversaw portions of the Juvenile Probation program. Mr. Lippman retired after 39 years of service in September of 2010. Mr. Lippman served on the Board of Directors of Girl Scout Joshua Tree Council from 1991 through 1995. He also worked as an adjunct professor in the Administration of Justice Department at Antelope Valley College from January 1996 until the time of his death. He is survived by Susan Lippman; his four children, Isaac Davenport, Naomi Barnes, Rachael Meiser and Jacob Lippman; and his 5 grandchildren, Lorraine, Noah, Miriam, Savannah and Olivia. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Mt. Sinai, Hollywood.
