KERPA, Carl O. Born in Buhl, Idaho in 1924, to German immigrant parents that became U.S. citizens through Ellis Island in 1913. He served his nation in the 494th Bomber Group in the south pacific during World War II. Came to California in 1945, where he met and married Rebecca Walters. Carl moved to Palmdale in 1956, to work for several major aerospace companies here in the valley. He retired in 1989, and enjoyed Fly-fishing, especially on the Lochsa River in Idaho. He was the last survivor of a family of eight children and is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rebecca, children, Karl and wife Judy Kerpa, Deborah Kerpa and husband Steve Lane, and John Kerpa, grandchildren, Paul Kerpa, Keri Webber and husband Donald, and great-grandchild, Tyler. In respect of his wishes, no services are planned. There will be a Memorial on Sunday, December 5, 2010, for friends and family. In lieu of flowers a donation in Carls memory to the Joe Davies Heritage Air Park in Palmdale would be appreciated Chapel of the Valley Mortuary Palmdale Directors.
