SPOONER, Carol Born in Grand Forks North Dakota and lived with her family in Lancaster for 44 years. Passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010. She was very active in her community throughout the years with The March of Dimes, Girl Scout leader to troop 53, COR weekend for teenagers, Leukemia Lymphoma Society (Team in Training) as well as the American Cancer Society. She was the cofounder of Dale's Hitchin' Station, with her husband Dale and enjoyed helping make the business a success over the last 34 years. She loved water skiing, snow skiing, scuba diving as well as traveling the world. There was nothing more beautiful than her garden, and nothing more tasty than her cooking. She was an absolute lover of life, and definitely 'her kids mom.' She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 48 years, Dale. Her three daughters Beth Manke (Tom), Barbara Brodowsky (Jeff) and Nancy Bsharah (Al) and five grandchildren she was very proud of: Danielle, Lauren, and Austin (Manke), Hayley and Hayden (Brodowsky), as well as her father Eldon Bailey. She was preceded in death by her son Danny, her mother, Margaret and brother Joe. Her Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Central Christian Church 3131 W Avenue J Lancaster, Calif. Carol's wishes were for no flowers but donations to the Antelope Valley Family YMCA to support the kids and families in the community she loved.
