CHENEY, NORMA
CHENEY, Norma Passed away October 9, 2010, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born to Thomas Lee and Edna Corrine Gunter on August 2, 1927, in Belen, New Mexico. At fourteen she moved to the Los Angeles area, she later married and moved to the Antelope Valley. She retired from the Antelope Valley High School District where she had worked for 25 years. She is survived by her sons Mike (Ann) Cheney of Lancaster, Calif., Joseph (Sharon) Cheney of Choctaw, Oklahoma, grandchildren Shawn (Katie) Cheney, Robert Cheney, Jennifer (Perry) Jones, Danielle (Brad) Ewald and Ryan Cheney, sister Ruth Cook of Lancaster, Calif., brother Jack (Dorothy) Cook of Pebble Beach, Calif., numerous nieces and nephews. All of those lives were enriched and expanded by her generosity of spirit and her tireless encouragement, support and unconditional love. We want to give a special Thanks to the Hoffman Hospice Nurses for their love and compassion that they showed our mother. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Chapel Service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010, Burial to follow services, all at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster. www.joshuamortuary.com
