Obituary Notices and Memorials

DUNNAGAN, Danny Charles 60, of Lancaster Calif.; died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday Sept. 15, 2010, after he lost his battle with cancer. Born 1950, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., his family moved to the Antelope Valley in 1956, and he has been a resident for over 55 years. Danny devoted over 39 years to his country. He started his service by volunteering to serve 4 years in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate during the Vietnam War. He then went on to become a civil servant where he worked for NASA , U.S. Army , and the U.S. Air Force as a Model Maker. Danny was hardworking, strong, very opinionated, loving and gentle. He showed strength and love right up until his last days. He touched many lives, radiated warmth and love, never met a stranger and he had a never ending joy for life, family and helping others. He had an uncanny ability to fix things, had a big laugh and an even bigger imagination; one of the most kind hearted people you could meet! Known by all his co-workers as "Grandpa" we are sure this was due to his great wisdom and stubborn opinionated ways...... Danny leaves behind his loving wife Barbra of 38 years to cherish their many memories; daughter Jennifer (Rochelle); son Jason (Carey), 2 grandsons Brandon and Kyle, sister Terry (Fred); sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and a great nephew and niece, also a huge extended family and plethora of friends. Preceded in death by his father Charley, mother Sno Jo, step-father Doug, brother Brian June 9, 2010); and mother-in-law Nancy (June 20, 2010). He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. Services will be held with full Military Honors at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, Calif. A Celebration of Life Reception to follow at the Dunnagan's home around 5:30 p.m..
