DILLEY, Larry Beloved husband, father and friend of many, was called home by his Lord Friday, August 20, 2010. He passed peacefully in his sleep with a smile on his face after a lengthy battle with cancer. Larry was born August 24, 1949, in Glendale, Calif., and attended Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, Calif., and Los Angeles Valley College. After Army service at Ford Ord, Calif., and Fort Hood, Texas, Larry resided in Tujunga and Sylmar until moving to Lancaster in 1987. He was a general contractor (Larry Dilley Construction) for over 25 years and a music store owner (Melody Music) for five years. Larry loved flying, hang gliding, scuba diving, RC planes, photography, music and animals. His biggest love was for his Lord, family and friends. Survived by his wife, Donna Dilley; mother, Carol Reece; children Amanda (Almon) Bame, Nicholas Dilley, Jamie (Will) Burgeson; step-children Eric (Amanda) Ely, Adrienne Ely, Scott Ely; grandchildren Anabelle, Savannah, AJ and Kaleb Bame and William Burgeson; siblings Gary (Mary) Dilley, Nancy (Wayne) Smith, Carollee (Gary) Baker, Hayley Tollers, Wayne Dilley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Austin Dilley, and brother, Danny Dilley. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010, at Central Christian Church.
