ELLS, Janey Minnick Born February 4, 1924, in Glendale, Calif. Passed away May 30, 2010, in Lancaster, Calif. She grew up in San Fernando where she went to San Fernando High School and L.A. City College. Janey has lived in the Antelope Valley for 60 years. Over the years she has worked at a reporter for the A.V. Press and a secretary for the Salvation Army. She was involved in community service; Y.M.C.A., PTA, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army Advisory Board, Women of the Moose, Joshua White Shrine, Rainbow Girls and Sunshine Chapter of Eastern Star. She is survived by her son Carl (Heather) Kurashewich of Dayton, Nev., daughter Peggy (Larry) Meyer of Lancaster, Calif., 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, to these she was lovingly known as 'Buddy'. She is preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Smith. Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2010, with services at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010, all at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
