TIERNAN, Mildred Marie Born June 6, 1919, in Pocahontas, Iowa. Passed away May 20, 2010, in Lancaster, Calif., after a long battle with cancer. She grew up in Manson, Iowa attending Manson High School. She has lived in the Antelope Valley for 54 years. Mildred was a cosmetologist working over 10 years and had a shop in Palmdale. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening. Survived by her children Bill Tiernan (Louise) of Lancaster, Calif., David Tiernan (Ann) of Lancaster, Calif., Matthew Tiernan (Janet) of Palmdale, Calif., Peggy Peterson of Lancaster, Calif., Patty Julius (Lynn) of Fremont, Neb., and Mary Heddens of Charles City, Iowa. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Leo Tiernan. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is gone but will always be in our hearts.
