HARVEY, Frank M. Born November 10, 1917, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Passed away April 29, 2010, in La Jolla, Calif. He grew up in Ontario, Calif., went to Chaffy High School in Ontario, Calif. He has lived in the Antelope Valley since 1954, but was also here in the 1940s with Lockheed. Frank began his career in 1940, with Lockheed Aircraft Company in Burbank, Calif., and was soon selected to become one of the original Skunk Works employees building the new jet XP-80 Shooting Star. Frank was involved in the flight test programs for the P-38, XP-80, P-80A, F-94, XF-90, XFV-1, U-2, XF-104, F-104A, NF-104, ZeroLaunch F104, SR-71 and the L1011 Tri-Star. He retired in 1975. Survived by his wife Gwendolyn, son Robert, granddaughter, Jennifer, and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Ave, Ontario, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Lung Association or to the Alzheimer Family Center, 4th Ave, San Diego, Calif., in memory of Frank M. Harvey.
