LATCHMAN, Carl Carl was born March 17, 1922, in Trinidad, BWI. Passed away on April 16, 2010. Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Patricia, daughters Janice Wright (Bryan), Leslie Latchman (Blu), Carla Krawczyk and Cindy Latchman, son David Latchman, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister, sister-in-law, a niece and a nephew. His grandson Greg Fobian preceded him in death. Carl spent 22 years in the U.S. Air Force including SAC retiring in 1966. He served in combat during World War II and the Korean War. Carl worked for another 20 years at EAFB at NASA and the Flight Test Center retiring in 1987. Flying was his passion and he obtained his private pilots license in Lancaster. Carl had numerous interests including creative writing, classical music, astronomy, history, philosophy and gardening. He wrote a self-published memoir at age 78. Carl and Pattie enjoyed traveling taking numerous trips and cruises. Carl was a 30 year member of the Lancaster Elks 1625. He was noted for his witty sense of humor, puns and quips. He will be dearly missed. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
