THOMAS, Dorothea Born Sept. 11, 1924, in Jasper, Ind. Passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, in Lancaster. She was working as a beautician in Los Angeles, when she met her future husband, Frank, at a dance. They married in 1948, and lived in Inglewood. When Frank died in 1976, Dot continued the family pest control business becoming the first woman in California to obtain a termite operators license. Dot eventually moved to Lancaster to be near family. Her church and her family were most important to her. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and 2 step-brothers. She is survived by two sons, Timothy and Ferris (Sherrie) Thomas, two granddaughters Rhiana (Steven) Wilson and Natalie Thomas, and two great-grandchildren Destiny and Steven Wilson. She is also survived by a step-sister, Viola Ragle, two brothers-in-law, Floyd Thomas and Gordon Keiser, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dr. Warren and Candace Doerfler along with nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church, 856 W. Newgrove, Lancaster. A private interment will be on Monday at Eternal Valley. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church in Dorotheas memory.
