SHEELEY Jr., Paul Richard Passed away unexpectedly at his home in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Thursday, January 14, 2010. He was born December 6, 1958, in Westchester, California, to Paul and Thelda Jo Sheeley. Known to family and friends as 'Dick' as a child, he was an avid baseball player, LA Dodgers fan, and guitarist, and was a 1977, Quartz Hill High School graduate, in Antelope Valley, California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Arizona University in Chemistry, and worked for the State of New Mexico as a chemist. Paul loved his guitars and his music, swimming at the NMSU pool, photography, and volunteering for the Animal Services Center, nursing sick kittens back to health so that they could be adopted. Paul was loved and will be missed by his sister, Debra Jo Davey, of Mesa, Arizona, his best buddy, Dustin Sears, and his beloved kitty, 'Baxter'. Also close to Paul were his bandmates: Gilbert, Gary, Doug, Irma and Mike. Survivors include his sister, nephew Matthew James Gunby III of San Diego, Calif., niece Rebecca Jo Gunby of Flagstaff, Ariz., and brother-in-law Jeffrey J. Davey of Mesa, Ariz. He is preceded in death by both parents. Donations may be made in memory of Paul to: Animal Services Center of Mesilla Valley, 3551 Bataan Memorial Way, Las Cruces, NM, 88012.
