MARTIN, Flavil Virge Jan. 3, 1922 ~ March 14, 2010 Mrs. Flavil Martin, long-time Valley resident, passed away March 14, 2010, at her home in Quartz Hill, she was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing. Mrs. Martin was born January 3, 1922, in Leedey, Okla., and spent her childhood there with her parents and five brothers and four sisters. In 1957, Mrs. Martin and her husband, Ralph, moved to Quartz Hill where Mrs. Martin taught elementary school for the Westside district until 1983. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Church of Christ and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes for many years. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, six of her siblings, one sister-in-law, and three brothers-in-law. She is survived by her sisters Farice and Fincel and her brother, Fred. Mrs. Martin is also survived by her children : Ray and his wife Gail, and Vikki, and her husband Joe. She leaves six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren Rusty, Renee, Rheagan, Marianne, Jaron, and Morganne remember her as a wonderful story-teller and an energetic worker. Mrs. Martin dearly loved her children and grandchildren, and was especially enchanted by her great-grandchildren Haley, Presley, and Parker. In addition to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings, Mrs. Martin's many nieces and nephews mourn her loss. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2010, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the Church of Christ, 1655 East Lancaster Blvd. Email condolences to
