WALTH, John William John was born on November 7, 1932, in Richardton, North Dakota, the ninth of eleven children to Fred and Christina Walth. His family moved to Billings, Montana as a child, where he was raised. John eventually joined the Navy and was aboard the USS MacKenzie during the Korean War. After six years, he was honorably discharged, taking up residence in San Diego, California. There, he took a job driving for San Diegos public transit. He met his wife Carmen Sotelo in San Diego, marrying in June of 1961. John and Carmen would leave San Diego in 1963, residing for a short time in Van Nuys, twenty years in Simi Valley, eight years in Tehachapi and then finally to Lancaster, California. He loved the outdoors, played the harmonica, was an avid reader and rode a motorcycle for many years. On Wednesday, February 24, 2010, John passed away at home, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carmen, daughter, Barbara Walth Santa, son, Michael Walth, son-in-law, Juan Santa, daughter-in- law, Natalia and six grandchildren.
