RODGER, Virginia P. (Dorman) Entered into eternal peace on Saturday, February 27, 2010, in Mojave, California where she lived with her son Lonnie, daughter-in-law Glenda and granddaughter Andrea Alexandra. She was born August 10, 1929, to Frederick and Florence Dorman in Wabasha, Minn. As a young person Virginia became a polio survivor and went on to a long career in the medical field. Virginia retired from AVHMC in 1993, after 26 years of dedicated service. She was a lifetime member of the Ladys Auxiliary to the VFW Club Post 7283 in Lancaster, Calif., holding all offices during her active years including president. Virginia volunteered for many years at the 'New to You' gift shop as well. Virginia was an avid reader enjoying history and romance novels the most. She is survived by her son, Lonnie (Glenda) of Mojave, Calif., brothers; Henry (Darlene) Dorman of Lancaster, Calif., Ben (Doris) Dorman of Altura, Minn., Jess (Dorothy), of Fort Madison, Iowa, and Frederick of Rochester, Minn., one grandchild; Andrea Alexandra of Mojave, ex-husband Maryon Rodger of Lancaster, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews. Her sister Marge Schmidt preceded Virginia in death. A Celebration of her life will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010, at Lancaster United Methodist Church 918 W. Ave J. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to the Friends of the Lancaster Library or to the charity of your choice.
