HOWLAND, Alfred R. 'Butch' Passed away December 30, 2009, in Lancaster, Calif. He was born June 9, 1939, in Alhambra, Calif. Butch graduated in 1957, from Mark Keppel High School and soon after joined the Teamster's Union where he would spend the next 30 years working on various construction projects throughout the state of California. Butch met and married his wife Mona (Shea) in 1961. They had two daughters, Vicki and Kandi. Upon his retirement, he decided to restore a 1967 Pontiac GTO. This was to become a ten year project for him including enrollment at Antelope Valley College to learn auto body repair. Once the car was finished, he joined the High Desert Cruisers. In addition to the car club, Butch was active with the Mark Keppel reunion committee, arranging yearly reunions. Butch is survived by his wife Mona, daughters Vicki Byars (Buddy) and Kandi Lewis (Jeff), also two grandchildren Joshua and Christian. He is missed.
