Obituary Notices and Memorials

WOOLWORTH, Joanne Victoria Our much loved mother and grandmother, Joanne Victoria Woolworth was suddenly taken from us February 16, 2010. Joanne brought her family to Lancaster in 1974, when she purchased the Ranch CafŽ. It was there that Joanie learned her famous cooking and baking skills. After selling the Ranch CafŽ in 1981, it didnt take long for Joanie to realize how much she missed the business. In 1984, she opened Joanies Coffee Shop in Quartz Hill, with the help of her daughters Cherie and Marion. 'Joanies' quickly became a popular local meeting place for residents in the AV. All of her family, except the youngest grandchildren, worked at the coffee shop, doing everything from buttering toast to greeting our beloved extended family with laughter and smiles. Joanne had a son John who preceded her in 1993, a sister Lou in 1996, and a brother Rudolph (Aunt Nookie) Quanstrumin 2009. She is survived by four children Mark (Shawn), Cherie (Gary Ginn), Marion Woolworth (Ron Rudquist) and Eddie. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; Bobby, Steven, Chrystal, Stacy, April, Cassy, Jennifer, Rick, Tony, JD, Matthew and Jeremy, as well as 17 great-grandchildren. She also left behind all her bingo buddies from California to Las Vegas and many other life-long friends. We will celebrate her life with a memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2010, at The Desert Vineyard 1011 E. Ave I. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the home of friends; 42822 52nd St. W., in Quartz Hill.
