BLOOM, Duke Born October 24, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Passed away February 5, 2010, at home in Lancaster. Pioneer in Lancaster since 1950. He was a special person, loved his community and returned as much to it as possible. He had a special love of Hawaii (Maui), only exceeded by the love for his family. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Roberta, sons Richard (Elaine) of Lancaster, Calif., Troy of Los Angeles, daughters Kathy (Walt) Hellein of Redding, Calif., Andrea Boynoff-Bloom of Lancaster, Calif., and Melanie (Charles) Suter of Reno, Nev., grandchildren Sarah Bloom, Logan Hellein, Breana (Michael) Kohan, Amber (Alan) Stevens, Bianca Bloom, Alisha (Tim) Kaplan, Jake Deuries, great-grandchildren Vincent Gorgita and Addyson Kaplan. Preceded in death by his son Robert in 2004. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Mumaw Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Desert Vineyard Christian Fellowship, Lancaster. Interment to follow will at Joshua Memorial Park. Reception immediately after at A.V. Country Club. Flowers will be appreciated, or donations may be made to Grace Resource Center. He will be missed by his family and friends, There will never be another 'DUKE'
