PLASTER, Joseph (Bill) Passed away peacefully on February 4, 2010, completing a full life on this earth which included accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, baptism into Christ and into the Kingdom of Heaven. Bill was born in Oklahoma to Eddie and Clemmie Plaster on August 17, 1927, the youngest of 9 children. He was given the nickname 'Wild Bill' lovingly by his father. He was known as 'Bill' for the rest of his life. As a child he relocated with his family to California. Very early in life Bill began working to help his family make ends meet and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He continued to maintain a strong work ethic through retirement. Bill was very creative continually coming up with inventions to make the chores and daily life easier. Bill loved life, living and people. He pursued many hobbies, steadfastly maintaining travel, camping and flying until the end. He is survived by his children Eddie Plaster and Terri Langley, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sisters Alta Jackson of Lancaster and Geneva Hopkins of Oklahoma, numerous nieces and nephews and longtime companion Doris Hays, who was by his side until the end. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, both at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
