DEVENPORT, Harry Everett 'Tuck' age 52 passed away January 17, 2010, in Lancaster, California. Harry was born October 28, 1957, in Northridge, California and has lived in the Antelope Valley for 29 years. He was nick-named 'Tuck' after his grandfather Everett Eugene Tucker whoÔs footsteps he followed in law Enforcement. He was an Eagle Scout, and nominated by Berry Goldwater, Jr. to attend the U.S. Naval Academy, he received a basketball scholarship from UCLA, and transferred to Cal State LA where he graduated in criminology. At age 19 he went to work for Los Angeles County Probation where he worked for 33 years. In 1988, he was promoted to Supervising Detention Senior Officer at the Challenger Youth Center, and in 2007, was promoted to Supervising Deputy Probation Officer. Tuck is survived by his wife Glenda Ullom-Devenport, one son, Gary, both of Lancaster, his parents, Harry and Elaine Devenport, one sister, Harriet Montaney and her husband Gerald, all of Yuma, Arizona, and a sister-in-law, Doreen Buchan of Reno, Nevada.Also many numerous nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2010, at Halley-Olsen-Murphy,Lancaster.
