WALLACE, Virginia Kilby
Born May 19, 1917, in Tecumseh, Okla., to Thomas and Ella Kilby. Passed away December 27, 2009, in Lancaster, Calif. Virginia started her early years of school in Tecumseh, Okla., then later graduated from Santa Monica High School and also attended business school in Santa Monica, Calif. She has lived in the Antelope Valley for 57 years. She worked as a secretary for Northrop Aircraft and also worked with her husband in his construction business. Virginia was active in the formation of St. Stephens of the Valley Lutheran Church and also in the formation of the Palmdale United Methodist Foundation as their secretary. Virginia met and married her husband Art in 1948, and they enjoyed over 61 years of marriage, building a loving home and a very happy life together. She is survived by her husband, Arthur R. Wallace, sister, Joan Witt, and brother, Virgil Kilby. She is preceded in death by her daughter, LisĀ Virginia Wallace who passed away in 1999. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2010, at the Palmdale United Methodist Church. There will be a reception at the church following the service, with a graveside service to follow at Joshua Memorial Park.
