Obituary Notices and Memorials

ASTON, Willard Passed away Dec. 14, 2009, peaceful at home in North Edwards, Calif., after a long battle of cancer. He was born August 2, 1939, in Jerome, Arizona. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years Hortencia Aston and their four children. Sherrie (Jim) Swafford of Round Mtn, Nev., Brenda (Danny) Segelke of Boron, Calif., David (Anne) Aston of San Diego, Calif., and Maggie (Brice) Western of Bakersfield, Calif. He also has 8 grandchildren, Nathan, Alishia, Kyle, J.D., Joshua, Bradley, Hannah, and Jacob and 2 brothers, David (Susan) Aston of Mesa, Ariz., and Paul (Pam) Aston of Humboldt, Ariz. Willard worked for U.S. Borax as a First Class Electrician where he retired after 33 years of service. He was always known in the work force to his fellow co-workers as 'Weird'. Willard enjoyed many activities but was always keeping up on all the sports and would always be watching ESPN to keep up on the results. He showed his dedication to his children and grandchildren by attending all their sporting events. Willard is preceded in death by his father Willard and mother Mildred, as well as brother Richard all from Arizona. We will be celebrating his new life at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Stickel Mortuary in Mojave. If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, Id walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
