JetHawks' make run from Riverside to Lancaster in less than a year

July 24, 1995 Lancaster Mayor George Runner announces the Riverside Pilots will relocate to Lancaster.

Aug. 14, 1995 Lancaster City Council approves lease agreement with the team and reaches agreement for the design of Lancaster Municipal Stadium.

Sept. 6, 1995 Groundbreaking ceremonies are held at stadium.

Oct. 10, 1995 The team announces new mascot - the JetHawks - along with logo, uniforms and colors.

Nov. 4, 1995 Ticket prices announced, season-ticket applications are mailed out.

Jan. 30, 1996 Light standards are installed. Officials say the stadium's construction is ahead of schedule.

Feb. 3, 1996 JetHawks announce KLOA FM as their flagship radio station.

March 5, 1996 Seattle Mariners open their minor league camp in Peoria, Ariz.

March 6, 1996 Grass is installed at stadium.

March 10, 1996 JetHawks have first team practice.

March 22, 1996 Mariners, JetHawks renew player development contract for four more years.

March 29, 1996 JetHawks general manager and vice president Matt Ellis announces the nickname for the Lancaster Municipal Stadium will be The Hangar.

April 1, 1996 JetHawks arrive in Lancaster.

April 3, 1996 About 2,000 people show up at The Hangar for an open house and team workout.

April 4, 1996 The JetHawks win their California League opener, 8-3, by beating the Bakersfield Blaze.

April 16, 1996 The JetHawks play their first home game at The Hangar.
